OK New Forest is an expression of church community based in the New Forest in Southern England. Welcome to our website.
OK is short for “oikos” – a Greek word used in the New Testament to describe the church as the household or family of God – not a building, but people.
We see the church as a loving, caring family among whom every person, and particularly the lonely and broken, can find refuge, new hope and a sense of belonging. We believe church should be attractive, non-religious, naturally supernatural and fun to be involved in – an environment in which people have real and open relationships, are committed to serve and support one another, and enjoy “doing life” together.
We do not see church in terms of minister and congregation but as a community where everyone has a vital role to play, and where ordinary people are equipped, enabled and released to live extraordinary lives.
See Mission and Values for a clear description of our goals and beliefs.
"You can do more than pray after you've prayed, but you cannot do more than pray until you have prayed." (John Bunyan)
Prayer lies at the heart of our life as a church. Prayer is simply connecting with and communicating with God. We are privileged to have prayer houses linked with the church and these are open to people from many other churches to come and pray for our area and our world - see Prayer Houses for further information.
